We would like to welcome you to:
Lydbury North C of E (A) Primary School
Onny C of E (A) Primary School
(St Michael’s Federation)
We are two small village schools with a single Headteacher and a shared governing body. There is a joint staff, a shared curriculum and a shared, caring family ethos. We have all the advantages of a small village school – each part of its unique community – and the benefit of working closely with another small school, sharing expertise and skills across the Federation. Both schools are Church of England Schools and both village churches are called “St Michael’s,” which is where our name originates.
Our Federation website celebrates and demonstrates our ethos of:
Working, learning and playing together
We will be stronger together
Quality teaching is where communication is attuned to children’s learning needs and responses. The communication is dynamic and recognises that success is different for every child. In our circumstances, our priority is to convey an “I can do” attitude that underpins every child reaching their potential. Resilience is key – supporting “Keeping on trying” as an essential part of learning for all, no matter what their ability. In our teaching we recognise our responsibility to develop social intelligence. We have a responsibility to our learning community which sits within the context of our Christian ethos, where every child is held as a unique person in God’s eyes.
Mrs Penelope Knight
