We all enjoy Forest School sessions

All the children in the Federation enjoy weekly Forest School sessions. Mrs Knight, the Headteacher, and four other members of staff have their Forest School Leader qualifications. As a Federation we are privileged to have wonderful outdoor spaces to use in and around our school grounds. As a result we are able to provide all children with quality learning experiences in enriching outdoor environments. All our classes are also named after different types of trees.

Onny Forest School

Onny School has a Forest School corner on its playing field.  The main Forest School site is in the small woodland located up the hill just above the school, which provides a great outdoor learning space for exploring. It is used for our weekly sessions with kind permission of Sir Laurie and Lady Jocelyn Magnus.

Lydbury North Forest School

Lydbury North School has a Forest School corner on its playing field. Each week the children go up to the Arboretum at Walcot Hall for their forest school sessions. This is a wonderful environment for the children to explore. We are grateful to Mr and Mrs Parish for allowing us to use it. Mrs Parish is a frequent visitor to Forest School and has also been a governor at Lydbury for twelve years.

Autumn Term 2016:

Monday afternoon – Little Oaks Nursery, Maple Class (Reception and KS1) and Sycamore Class ( KS2) all enjoy a Forsest School afternoon together.
