Our small friendly nursery units allow each child to be treated as an individual; ensuring that the learning experiences that are offered are unique to each child and are able to accommodate every child’s stage of development as in all quality early years practice.  Our aim is to provide a happy, caring, stimulating environment for young children to learn – capturing their natural curiosities and interests and nurturing a love of learning.

The nursery week is busy and varied and much use is made of the outdoor environment – so waterproofs and wellingtons are essential!  The nursery children love their weekly forest school sessions.  As you can see from the photographs!

Both nurseries offer a hot lunch and the Nursery children have a Nursery assistant who supervises them over lunchtime as they join the school family for lunch and outdoor playtime.

Onny Nursery is open for five days each week  from 9 until 3.15pm.  Lydbury North nursery is open for five days each week from 9 until 3.00pm.

The school also has breakfast club provision from 8am, nursery children are also welcome to access this provision.

Onny has a Pre School group called “Little Lambs” that meets each Friday afternoon from 1 until 3pm in the school hall.  This is organised by  a team of volunteer helpers. It is a lovely way to introduce babies and toddlers and their parents to Onny school.

Lydbury North has a “Bumps, Babies and Beyond” group that meets in school on a Friday morning from 10 until 12pm. It is a good way of meeting other parents from our local rural area and introduces the children and parents to Lydbury North School.

Both these groups are very sociable and are enjoyed by all that attend.
